About The Project
The project's centerpiece was crafting an extensive sustainability report for Licious Foods, a prominent fresh meat brand. This report centered around the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) frameworks. It encompassed a thorough materiality assessment, stakeholder analysis, and meticulous data gathering, all in line with established standards. Licious Foods contributed necessary information, while the consulting team developed templates, processed and analyzed data, and synthesized the findings into a coherent narrative.
This report highlighted Licious Foods' sustainability efforts, detailing their effects and featuring transformation stories. The consultant had privileged access to Licious' internal systems and collaborated closely with the Licious Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) team to involve key stakeholders effectively. The ultimate goal was to deliver a report that was not only succinct and visually striking but also effectively conveyed the depth and impact of Licious Foods' sustainability endeavors.

UIL was appointed as the ESG consultant for the creation of an extensive sustainability report for Licious Foods. The project was centered around aligning with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the Business Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting (BRSR) framework. UIL's involvement encompassed a variety of critical activities to ensure the report's success and relevance. Key activities carried out by UIL team included:
Comprehensive Review of Existing Processes and Procedures: UIL began by conducting a thorough analysis of Licious's current sustainability frameworks, including their processes, procedures, policies, data management systems, and manuals. This initial step was crucial for understanding the baseline of Licious's sustainability practices and the availability of relevant data.
Detailed Materiality Assessment: UIL executed a meticulous materiality assessment in close collaboration with Licious. This involved a sectoral review, peer benchmarking, analysis of existing/historical ESG ratings, and identifying relevant GRI indicators tailored to Licious's requirements. The goal was to pinpoint the most significant sustainability topics for Licious and its stakeholders.
Capacity Building Workshop Facilitation: UIL organized and led a comprehensive workshop for Licious's key stakeholders. The objective was to educate and engage them in the materiality assessment process, underlining its critical role in shaping the sustainability report.
In-depth Interactions with Internal Stakeholders: UIL interacted extensively with various departments and functional heads within Licious. These interactions were aimed at collecting vital insights and information, which were instrumental in adding depth and context to the sustainability report.
Development of Data/Information Collection Templates: UIL crafted specialized templates for the efficient and effective collection of data and information. These templates were designed to ensure a systematic approach to capturing all necessary details for the report.
Guidance in Data Collection and Analysis: UIL provided oversight and guidance to Licious in the collection and analysis of data using the developed templates. This step was fundamental in forming a robust and accurate content base for the sustainability report.
Sustainability Report Content Development: UIL took the lead in developing the substantive content of the sustainability report. This included composing the CEO's statement, detailing the various ESG initiatives at Licious, and creating disclosures for the identified material topics.
Preparation and Review of Draft Sustainability Report: UIL prepared a comprehensive draft of the sustainability report, which was then presented to Licious for review. This process allowed for fine-tuning the report to align with Licious's vision and feedback.
Finalization of the Sustainability Report: After incorporating feedback from Licious, UIL proceeded to finalize the sustainability report, ensuring that it was both comprehensive and reflective of the insights gathered throughout the process.
Design and Branding of the Final Report: UIL designed the final sustainability report in accordance with Licious's branding guidelines and visual identity standards. The focus was on creating a report that was not only informative and in line with sustainability reporting standards but also visually compelling and reflective of Licious's brand.
Throughout the assignment, UIL maintained a collaborative and consultative approach, working closely with the Licious ESG team and other key stakeholders. This ensured that the final sustainability report was a true reflection of Licious's commitment to sustainability, effectively communicated through a well-designed and strategically crafted document.
